One cold, windy, yet sunny day before Christmas I took the last walk with my dear old friend, Sal Fina. I was a wreck, but I knew time does heal, and memories will last a lifetime. When your Westie has to say goodbye, it’s as though they look at you and say “It’s good for you to bring another into your life and show them the love you showed me for so many years.”  And so we did and the search began….

The internet is FULL of websites and links to Westie puppies all over the country, in all kinds of living conditions, many different physical attributes, and for all sorts of prices. My concerns were to find a little soul who was raised by a family, socialized with the family, living in a clean, nice home, and with someone who paid attention to detail throughout the entire process; breeding, raising, training, veterinary care, transition, and ongoing consultation. My in depth search lead me to Melissa at WillowWood Westies and Scotties.

The WillowWood Westies and Scotties website was the draw in for me because every concern listed above was addressed. My conversation with Melissa exceeded my expectations. She spent the time to talk to me about her little ones and how the entire process would take place. Ironically, the thing that put me most at ease was that she was interviewing me too. She was making sure that her little darlings were going to end up in a home where they would find a long life full of love, happiness, and good health. This was like looking through the window into her Melissa’s heart.

The decision was made and the “puppy bump” grew in our hearts as we waited for Salainn PingShua’s 8 week birthday and her arrival. The hand off went without a hitch! Now here at our home little PingShua is absolutely wonderful. She is happy, healthy, super smart and the “Westitude” to go with it. We couldn’t be more pleased. I am sure if Sal Fina would have known her she would have approved, paws down!
